Jivamukti class at Mokshala yoga The intention of this class was to find strength within for others around you. In a difficult pose, who can you focus on? Who needs you to be strong for them? We dedicated the practise to someone no longer with us, and wished them happiness on their soul journey... Gitte. Felt great for this session. 6/22/2018 0 Comments June 21TH, 2018Day 5.

Did some yoga study about the alignment of the chakras as you are standing in mountain pose. Essentially you consciously make sure your posture is correct and you bring awareness to each chakra from top to bottom, imagining them clicking into place. I liked the way to open the 7th chakra that I read about – you imagine a 1000-petalled lotus flower slowly opening at the crown of your head. I also learnt how to open the hand chakras. Set your intention first. Then hold your hands out in front of you, one turned up, one down. Open and close them quickly until your hands tire, then turn each hand over and repeat. Slowly bring your hands together until they are around 3-4 inches apart. What can you feel? I could feel warm resistance. Rub your palms together and imagine a growing, glowing light and speak the word, 'open'. http://www.chakrahealing.com/hand-chakras/ When your hand and heart chakras are properly balanced and connected, you can control the outward flow of heart chakra energy through the palms of your hands. Here are some signs that show these chakras are balanced with each other.
It made me want to knead dough, and squish clay between my fingers! It also interestingly helped my wrist pain. 6/18/2018 0 Comments June 18th, 2018Day two of cycle.

Today, T & I climbed Pen y fan, the highest mountain in South Wales. It was quite hard! The weather was really wet and misty so sadly I didn't get to see the view. But I enjoyed it! The first hour up I definitely found tough, my legs and hips hurt. But then the rest was ok - even if we were being battered by rain and wind. There's something about being up in the elements that I love, even if part of me can't wait to be back down again. Ideally I'd have been resting today, or just doing lighter movement, but I felt ok working kinda hard. I didn't train yesterday. I thought about P quite a bit. I would never have done any hill-walking if it wasn't for him. He always looked after me and I smiled as I remembered him lacing up my boots, adjusting the straps on my rucksack and checking I was all zipped up. I used to love it. We were always at peace together on the mountains and he loved seeing me enjoy it. I know it made him proud – I was really scared when we first started doing big walks in the Lake District. It made me happy to think about him, yet that piercing feeling of grief was there. I breathed in the cold air and exhaled my sadness. I looked at T. A different man. I saw him looking after me and leading me in his own way. Less hands on, but I felt safe with him too – and now I don't need the same attention or reassurance. I am confident in myself now. He kept checking in with me and gave me a little push when I needed it. It was good. I appreciated it for what it was - a moment in time with a man I love. |
